RSP’s Response to Covid-19.

RSP Senior Living has been building trusting relationships for over 30 years. It is in that spirit that we have created a dashboard so that families may access up-to-date information on each of our facilities' coronavirus testing and results. Facilities that have had a Covid-19 diagnosis in their building have immediately tested the entire staff and all residents.

Our residents and staff are like family to us, and we are confident in following all CDC guidelines in our facilities to keep everyone safe.

For any additional information on each building's Covid-19 policies, please go to their individual page on this website.

Frequently Asked Questions About Residential Care

What is a residential care home?

A residential care home goes by many different names: board and care homes, personal care homes, sheltered housing, domiciliary care homes, and adult family homes. No matter what you call it, these types of facilities offer personalized service to aging individuals, such as lodging, meal services, and assistance with daily living activities.

Am I eligible for residential care?

To be eligible to receive care in a residential home, an individual must be at least 60 years old and usually must be fairly mentally alert. This means they must be able to dress, feed, and take themselves to the toilet. Also, they should need no more than moderate assistance with behavior supervision or personal care.

What is the main difference between assisted living and residential care?

Assisted living is for aging seniors that need help with daily care, but not as much as a nursing home would provide. They range in size from 25 residents to 120 or more. Meanwhile, residential care typically serves fewer people and is ideal for anyone who needs a more individualized home-setting care.

What is the difference between skilled nursing and residential care?

Residents in nursing homes may have more complex health conditions that require round-the-clock supervision and monitoring. Meanwhile, individuals in a residential care facility are able to act autonomously but may require assistance for certain activities.

What is long-term residential care?

Long-term residential care may involve a varied list of services designed to meet an aging individual’s health needs during a period of time that can range from short to long. When a senior is no longer able to perform certain daily activities on their own, long-term residential care is a great option to help them live as safely and independently as possible.
